HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHARCUTERIE & CUTTING BOARDS

Thank you for your purchase! I hope your board serves your family and friends well for years to come. Here are some instructions to keep your board in good shape as you begin to use it:

• CLEANING STEPS

- Use warm water and dish soap

- Quickly wash the board and dry it

- Sit or hang upright to dry

- Once dry, apply wood finish with a rag or napkin

- Let finish sit for a few hours and wipe off with a new rag or napkin

• FURTHER CLEANING INFO

- While it’s always important to thoroughly clean your wooden cutting board, the goal should be to do so both quickly and efficiently. Since wood is porous it is prone to building up internal moisture. Over time, this can lead to your boards warping or cracking. When you wash your cutting board, make sure to dry it thoroughly and apply a small amount of Wauka Mountain Wood Finish afterward to prevent cracking.

- NEVER leave boards out under sustained heat, this will lead to cracking of the wood and could ruin the wood.

- NEVER put a wooden board in the dishwasher. The boards will become over-saturated with water and the extreme heat will seriously dry out the boards. Take a little extra time to wash your boards by hand, and you’ll ensure their longevity by giving them just a little extra love.

- If you ever encounter any sour smells coming from your board, simply cut a lemon in half and give your board a citrus rub down. This should help remove any bad smells and give your board a good refresher.

• APPLYING BEESWAX/BOARD CONDITIONER

- Use a beeswax finish that will help keep your board resistant to fluids and in good condition.

- To apply, use a rag or napkin, and simply rub out around the board.

- Let the finish sit for a few hours or overnight, then wipe off with a dry rag or napkin.
